Our History
Nestled away on winding Gold Street in Manhattan’s venerable Financial District, Giardino D’Oro is indeed a golden garden as its name translates. All that is charming about Italy comes to life as co-owners Benny Jakupaj and Nick Vuli welcome even newcomers with open arms. At Giardino D’Oro, food is indeed art with the fine Italian cuisine replete with antipasti, fresh rolled pastas, exquisite meat and seafood dishes, mouth-watering desserts, and an extensive wine list. Attentive yet discreet service in an intimate setting with strains of Sinatra softly crooning in the background set the scene for power lunches as well as romance.
Beautifully designed, white-clothed tables glisten with 14K gold-rimmed china by Villeroy & Boch, with the earth-toned marble bar gently curving along the side of the dining room. Our two floors are elegantly appointed with chandelier lighting, gold Venetian plaster walls and hand-painted murals of Italian towns, villages and gardens. Downstairs, a circular private dining areas enclosed with curtains can accommodate up to 26 people per table (totaling up to 200 people.
Giardino D’Oro is walking distance from the many neighboring hotels. To name a few: Gild Hall, Club Quarters, Millennium Hilton, Exchange Hotel, Best Western, and The Hampton Inn. Convenient street parking is available after 7p.m., as well as many area parking garages and lots.
This is hands down my most favorite restaurant in Manhattan. We found it via Yelp when we were scouting locations for our wedding dinner. Our first experience was superb. Great staff, nice environment, and oh my goodness the food! To die for! Something a true Italian can appreciate! Needless to say we wanted to move forward with booking our wedding dinner there. And then we were introduced to Benny. He only made the experience better and boy was he the man throughout the entire planning process! He catered to all of our needs and requests and assured us everything would be perfect for our 40 guests…and it truly was. Everyone raved about the service and the food. My Italian family still talks about the ricotta pie that they say tastes better than their mother’s! That’s blasphemy in the Italian world! Oh and definitely get the gnocchi…it’s homemade and oh so delicious!

I love this place, and so does my wife. Among the things they excel in, service is at the top. We went her for her birthday, and they treated us like royalty!

On Sunday, November 30th, my partner and I had the distinct pleasure of celebrating our 30th anniversary and our wedding reception at Giardino D’Oro. It was a magical experience!!! Benny (the owner) and his team are amazing hosts. They paid attention to the most minute detail and ensured that everything ran smoothly. The food was spectacular – amazing cocktail hour appetizers and the dinner was superb. The atmosphere was so comfortable, fun, warm and intimate. I can’t think of a better place to celebrate the happiest day of your life!
